I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!!! The sun was shining here, and I have to say I didn’t get much scrappy time in, but I took a lot of great fall photos that I hope to use with this month’s November kit! This month I have decided to give you a journalling challenge! I always have a hard time putting my thoughts down on paper, and sometimes the words that you put on a layout are the most important years from now, when looking back. Your challenge for this month is to create a layout based around something or someone you are thankful for. Try to write at least 3 sentences on your layout, and really focus on the journalling amd telling your story! Have fun, and be sure to link this back to the forum, and post in the gallery! Here is what I created for the challenge:
I used the November Kit for this challenge, as it went perfect with my sister, and her husbands’ fall background! Here is what the journalling reads:
After Tammy’s accident, we realized that it is just the “2″ of us. We have become closer as friends and family. I may have lost one sister… but I am so thankful to have you… and to have our relationship grow more everyday! Love you sis!
Today’s challenge is going to require you to pull out those border punches! On my card, I used a Martha lace scallop border punch to give my tri-fold card a cute lacy scalloped edge.
I also used it to give the inside just as nice a look.
To make this card, cut cardstock to 6.25″ x 12″. (This will give you a card that will fit nicely into one of the envelopes that you get in bulk at any craft store.) Score at 2″ and at 7″. This will give you a lip on your card to use the border punch on. So punch away, fold, and decorate! It’s that easy!
I cannot wait to capture memories of my children on their first swingset in the backyard! I also want to get loads of photos at the beach and on a trip to visit my sister.
Please e-mail your address to info@colormedaisy.com so we can get your prize out to you!
Hello again! Mrs. Daisy here. Things have been busy here at Color Me Daisy. The past couple of days we were busy getting ready to release the June Kit, Fabulous Melody, which went live last night. I’ve really enjoyed reading all the blog comments this month on our RAK a Day Blog Giveaway and getting to know all of you. I hope you will continue to hang out with us on our message boards too.
I had some fun last night playing with the June kit. I have been waiting to rip into this baby for a couple of weeks. I love the blue, green, yellow and black combo. This kit is filled with several different kinds of specialty papers from GCD Studios, Chatterbox and Bazzill and plenty of fun embellishments from Chatterbox, Pink Paislee, Tim Holtz and Jenni Bowlin.
I can’t believe this month is coming to an end, and for us here in Arizona it is definitely summertime. The weather here doesn’t wait for the calendar, we have been in the high 90’s to low 100’s for the past few of weeks. With two little ones we can’t be outside much once it gets real hot, unless we are in the pool. Our pool has been a comfortable 83 degrees for the past couple of weeks and the boys are loving it. Our summer will be filled with pool memories. We are doing a “staycation” this year, so the pool is our big resource for entertainment. I am going to need lots of options to capture and scrap all of those summer memories we will be creating.
Here is my first layout with the June Kit, created also for theLayout A Day challenge that I am still going strong in:
From the June Kit “Fabulous Melody”: Bazzill Cardstock, GCD patterned papers, Chatterbox tag, Tim Holtz Grungeboard Butterfly and Bazzill ribbon. From the June Add-On’s: Chatterbox Fabulous Acrylic Stamps, Chatterbox Fabulous Trims included in Main Kit Add On, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Lemon Zest, and American Crafts Giftbox Thickers in Black.
Extra Prizes:
Since our month of fun is closing in on the end and this is my last official post for the RAK of the Day I thought we should give away some extra goodies. On Monday, June 1st I will be drawing for a few more prizes. I have a couple of extra RAK’s left over and another Basic Grey Ambrosia Mini Kit. So on June 1st, I will be drawing names from all the comments posted during the month to send out a little more happy mail. So more chances to win, so don’t forget to visit us the next few days.
Also our last challenge will be posted today for the Be Happy Online Crop. You have until Sunday night to get your submissions posted to our Gallery for all of the challenges offered this month. We have some great prizes from Basic Grey and Sassafras Lass and a CMD project kit.
Challenge winners will be randomly drawn next week. Challenge prizes and the remaining RAK a Day prizes will be sent out within a week or so once we have all the addresses of the winners, so make sure you respond soon if you get an e-mail from us ;).
Thanks for playing along with us this month. And for today’s comments I want you to tell me what memories you are planning to create this summer and then capture in your scrapbook pages.
Congratulations ZaZa!! You are Day #19 winner!! Please contact info@colormedaisy.com and let them know where to send your goodies to.

love your banner
Have you all seen the cute and adorable little Maya Road triangle banner in this month’s kit?!?!? I love making altered art, it seems to break up the monotony sometimes of constantly doing layouts. I decided to turn my banner into a cute gift for my son’s teacher. My hope is that it brings lots of smiles to her face! If you’d like to see some close-ups of the banner, please check out the gallery.
I used a majority of the “happiness” kit and added lots of trims/ribbons, buttons, and the chipboard pieces that came with it. Have you altered anything lately or had something on your to do list? Let me know about it in your post and you may just win some little goody!! Good luck ladies!!
WINNERS ANNOUNCED! Thanks for all your great comments yeseterday. We will be considering them to see where we may make some changes.
We had 55 posts yesterday so we have 3 RAK winners.

I look at the embellishments and the cost of shipping. Paper is great, but relatively easy to find depending on where you live, so embellishments and extras are what really set kits apart for me!

hola. Well first love the box, the paper is one of my favs. Orange is one of my fav colors. So looking to buying. I would have to say I’m looking for something unique to catch my eye. I also need to know i’m getting a good value. I usually will buy more to get free shipping. I feel like offering a savings or free shipping balances out running from store to store to use a coupon at my lss. I wasn’t a big kit buyer but until i won one, and wow! I love not having to take time to coordinate everything. Now I’m loving having a kit, because it save me a lot of time.

Wow, the box you made for your mom is absolutely stunning.
The thing that makes me go from just browsing to buying is if I answer yes to all these questions:
1. Can I find a better deal somewhere else/some other time?
2. Do I need it right now?
3. Is it unique compared to what I already have?
4. Is the shipping cost appropriate?
Yep, that’s what I ask myself when I’m buying online
Now to pick our winner of the Basic Grey Ambrosia Kit from this past weeks comments:
Cute card and treat box!! I love all foods on my birthday. I figure its a good day to cheat, and eat whatever I want, as much as I want! Oh, and I’ve got have cake with a thick layer of icing
Please e-mail your address to info@colormedaisy.com so we can get some happy mail out to you!

Is there anyone in your family who would love to get a homemade card from you?!?!? I’m sure it would brighten their day! Here are 2 cards that I made with the Color Me Daisy May “Happiness” kit.

Happy Monday!!! It’s always kinda hard to get back into the swing of the work week after a holiday…esp. if you got treated extra special yesterday isn’t it? Well…how about the chance at a fun little RAK to help get the day off on the right foot??!?!
I don’t know about the rest of you but I have some SERIOUS issues with Vintage Love. I am truly, madly, deeply in love with all things vintage and shabby….and the Captivating Mini Kit this month was just the ticket! It was absolutely perfect for this LO I did of my mom when she was a baby.
Isn’t she a cutie?
So just leave a comment and tell me what “style” or type of kit just can’t help but make your heart skip a beat and I’ll be back in 24 hours to draw a winner!!!
I had so much fun reading about all of your addictions; it made me feel so much better about my own, LOL. Today’s winner courtesy of random.org is #17 - Maria who shares a couple of my addictions.
Maria wrote - “I love this post because I too feel scrapbooking is so addictive!!! I am delighted to say that I too have acquired an addiction to THICKERS and I love bling!!”
How about some Friday funnies, I was exchanging e-mails with a couple of friends (who are also CMD members) a couple of days ago about the “addiction” of kits and scrapbooking. When one said she needed a 12 step program. So, I obliged her with the following 12 step program for scrapbook “addiction”:
12 Steps to immersing yourself in your scrapbook “addiction”: (Hey, who says we want to recover!)
1. We admit we are powerless over pretty paper, bling, buttons, ribbon, flowers and all things scrappy.
2. We believe that pretty paper can restore our sanity.
3. We made a decision to turn our will, our lives, our time and our wallets over completely to paper, ribbon, buttons, bling and all fantastic things we can use in our quest to preserve our memories and fulfill our creative needs.
4. We take inventory of what we do not have to justify all of our purchases. We must be sure to have enough supplies to scrap all of our pictures ten times over.
5. We admi to no one the exact nature of where all this stuff came from.
6. We are so ready to have an entire weekend to ourselves by telling our family and friends we are “busy”, we just leave out it is “busy” with scrapping.
7. We have humbly asked our friends and family that all of our gifts include scrap supplies or gift cards to purchase scrap supplies (I just did this for Mother’s Day)
8. We have bought paper and embellishments and then staged our photos (outfits that matched the paper, props, etc.) so we could get pictures we could then use with said paper and embellishments. (Sometimes we even bought the outfits to match the paper)
9. We are always willing to be enabled to help us justify our purchase of the next new tool, kit, paper line or embellishment because we have to have it all. Sometimes we must be the enabler to justify what we have already done.
10. We continuously take inventory and organize our supplies yet we still come home with something we already had in our stash. We buy so much we spend more time organizing our stash than we do using it.
11. We stalk kit clubs for the next release; we browse online galleries, scrap sites and stores; and we subscribe to magazines for inspiration, ideas and eye candy to help us use some of these supplies. This typically results in purchases of more scrappy goodies that will need to then be organized so we can use them up. Can you say vicious circle?
12. Having had a creative awakening as the result of these steps, we carry this message to other scrapbookers to always want more goodies so we can justify our own “addictions”. And we practice these principles in all our affairs.
Four of my current addiction’s can be found on this page: Thickers, Stickles, bling and my latest addiction, butterflies.
“Egg Hunt” - CMD May “Happiness” Kit, Cardstock Add On, Stickles, Clearsnap Chalk Ink
I do have to admit, I have a serious addiction to Thickers.
I recently went to CKC-Mesa and came home with 15 packs of Thickers, this would be in addition to the huge stash of them I already have. I will not photgraph them, I am hiding the evidence.
So tell me, does any of the above sound familiar to you? What is your scrapbooking addiction? Is it Thickers, Stickles, spending hours cruising galleries for inspiration? I’ll draw a name from all the comments after 24 hours and send some happy mail your way.
Please e-mail your address to info@colormedaisy.com so we can send your goody to hold you over until summer!!
Hi ladies, we are so excited to have you here with us! It’s day 5 and we’ve already had a few winners!! How exciting! Please keep entering if you haven’t won already, there will be lots of chances!
Now on to what I’ve created with this month’s happy and joyful kit. Don’t you just love those colors? Michelle hit the nail on the head when she named it Happiness! The colors are so vibrant and take me back to days of counting down the last days of school and getting ready for summer. I have rummaged through this kit several times and I have to say that besides the colors of the My Mind’s Eye and Fancy Pants papers, the Maya Road critter chipboard and the green puffy shapes are my favorite!! I am sure we all have pictures that will be perfect for this kit.
This layout is of my son, Joshua. And yes, he is on a count down to the last day of school and I knew I wanted to document these last days of his 1st grade. He is already asking when we will be able to the pool to go swimming. So please let me know in your post, what are you looking forward to this summer?!?! I will be drawing a name from today’s posts and you just might win some cool goodie from Color Me Daisy to hold you over until those sunny days are here again!!
